D.I.Y KORKER HAIR BOWS

D.I.Y KORKER HAIR BOWS

This is an easy step by step guide to making cute korker hair bows.

     Supplies:

  • ribbon preferably 3 colors
  • scissors
  • clothespins
  • glue gun
  • elastic, headband, and/or alligator clip
  • pencils
  • ruler
  • needle and thread

Cut 15 pieces of ribbon 5in long.

Wrap all of your ribbon onto the pencils and secure it with clothespins.
(TIP: After wrapping the ribbon I spray them with a little hairspray this will help them hold their curl once they're out of the oven.)

Set your oven to 250, leave them in for 15-20 minutes

This is what they should look like when they come out of the oven

Thread your needle and then start stacking the ribbon on top.

After all of your ribbon are stacked, tie the thread off on the bottom of the bow
Then it's time for attaching your elastic, headband, and/ or alligator clip!

THIS IS WHAT THE END RESULT SHOULD LOOK LIKE!
I hope this was helpful!!!

Fake Cupcakes

D.I.Y FAKE CUPCAKES

(The above cupcakes are made by yours truly!!!)

Okay SO, anyone that knows me knows that I'm obsessed with EVERYTHING cupcake. I came across these faux cupcakes on Etsy and they are so adorable! It took me ALOT of searching for this highly secretive recipe but I finally found it and now I will share it with whoever reads this blog (haha)!

Supplies

  • Lightweight Spackling
  • Acrylic Paint (whichever color(s) you choose will be the color of your icing)
  • A can of expansion foam
  • Cupcake tins
  • Cupcake wrappers
  • Plastic Icing bags
  • Large star icing tip
  • Large plastic mixing bowl
  • Large spoon
  • Small rocks/pebbles (you can find these at your local craft store)
  • Latex or non latex gloves highly recommended!
  • Sprinkles you can use glitter, little beads, rhinestones etc.

FAUX CUPCAKE RECIPE

  1. Make sure you have a nice big cleared table and/or area to work on because making these cupcakes can get pretty messy. Also double check that you have all of the above items for this recipe because you will indeed use everything that I listed. Alright let's get started!!!
  2. Place as many cupcake wrappers as possible on your work space the expansion foam is one time try to get as much out of it as you can.
  3. Insert your cupcake tins inside cupcake wrappers, and then place 1 little rock and/or pebble inside each one, this will work as a sort of weight.
  4. Now we will be using the expansion foam so I would put on a pair of gloves because this stuff is REALLY sticky!!! When spraying the expansion foam you want to lightly pull the trigger on the can because this stuff truly holds up to its name, so you don't want to overdue I usually fill the wrapper halfway. Also when you are spraying the foam I like to go in a circular motion, it seems that I have more control when I do it that way.
  5. Let the cupcakes dry for about 45 minutes or until they harden. After they are dry I like to paint all the tops of the expansion foam with a brown color just to give it more of a realistic cupcake look, but it's not necessary.
  6. With the icing you are going to use your large plastic bowl, lightweight spackling, acrylic paint (color of your choice), plastic icing bags, large star tip, and spoon. Scoop the spackling into your plastic bowl then you are going to squirt the paint into the bowl of spackling and mix until you get an icing like consistency.
  7. Scoop your faux icing into your icing bag and then begin to ice your cupcakes!!!
  8. Now it's time to sprinkle your glitter, beads, rhinestones and place your cupcake toppers.
  9. Let your cupcakes sit for about 24 hours to make sure the icing fully dries.

Have fun and be creative!!!
